Geiko Yachiyo as The Wisteria Maiden 1908 (by Blue Ruin1)
Yachiyo dressed as the Fuji Musume (Wisteria Maiden) with another Geiko (Geisha) dressed to dance the role of a man.
Fuji Musume is a famous dance of unrequited love, portraying the spirit of the wisteria as a young maiden who recalls the promises of an unfaithful lover.
The maiden is dressed in a Furisode (long flowing kimono), a Nuri-gasa (black-lacquered bamboo hat) and carrying a Fujinohana-no-eda-no-mochimono (beautiful branch of wisteria).
